What is sterling silver?

Sterling silver is simply a metal made of 92.5% silver, and 7.5% other metals such as tin, steel, or nickel. Sterling silver is still considered valuable because of the silver in it, although it has more practical uses than pure silver because it is used in items such as silverware and jewelry.
